The companies that own premium cable TV channel Epix may file to to take it public, according to several sources. The possible offering comes as several content companies are talking about consolidation. Epix has potential growth ahead of it. It's only available in 50 million homes and doesn't have any deals with Comcast  (CMCSA)  or AT&T's (T)  Direct TV service. Epix is owned by Viacom's  (VIAB)  Paramount Pictures, Lions Gate  (LGF)  and MGM. Lioins Gate this week is due to close on its acquisition of Starz  (STRZA) .
