Could agricultural company Monsanto (MON) be getting a better bid from Germany's Bayer? That speculation is sending Monsanto shares higher on Tuesday, following a report in the Sunday Times which said a new offer could come as early as this week. When Monsanto turned down Bayer's $122 a share bid last week, the CEO said it undervalued Monsanto, and he called the bid 'inadequate.' Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant said at the time 'the current proposal significantly undervalues our company and also does not adequately address or provide reassurance for some of the potential financing and regulator executions related to the acquisition.'
