8 automakers are recalling more than 12 million vehicles in new recalls related to defective Takata airbags. Reuters reports Honda Motor (HMC - Get Report) is calling back 4.5 million U.S. vehicles, while Fiat Chrysler (FCAU - Get Report) is recalling 4.3 million, according to government documents. The recalls come after Japan's Takata earlier this month agreed to declare up to 40 million additional inflators defective by 2019, a move that will prompt 17 automakers to issue vehicle recalls.
