135 U.S. fire trucks are being recalled. Pierce Manufacturing has warned that a failing suspension part can lead to a wheel falling off. The recall includes Pierce Arrow fire trucks from 2010 and 2011. Investigations began on the trucks back in March after a wheel fell off two aerial ladder vehicles responding to emergency calls in Oregon and Oklahoma. The problem has been linked to a malfunctioning front suspension. Pierce Manufacturing will carry out an inspection of the models and replace any faulty control arms on the trucks. The recall document was posted over the weekend listing details of the TAK-4 front suspensions built from Nov. 18, 2009, through May 11, 2011.
