Baseball fans have the opportunity to bid on some of the most important items in the sport's history.
Baseball fans have the opportunity to bid on items from 130 years of America's favorite pastime, as Christie's this week holds a baseball memorabilia auction. There's everything from bats and balls hit by some of the most famous players, to items from lesser known. yet important, players. That includes the contract signed by Lizzie Stride, one of the first professional female baseball players. There are also letters and contracts from Ty Cobb, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, and Cy Young. The auction will be held Wednesday and Thursday, and it is expected the collection will be sold for $5 to $7 million.
