3D printer maker Stratasys announced it closed the acquisition of GrabCAD, a leading cloud-based platform for 3D CAD users that provides tools for 3D design collaboration. Stratasys also reported a third-quarter loss of $31.3 million on Wednesday. Adjusted earnings came in at 60 cents per share, which is better than expected. It posted sales of $203.6 million in the period, which topped forecasts. Stratasys established MakerBot Europe by acquiring MakerBota’s German distributor. MakerBot Europe will manage existing resellers as well as expand the company’s reach. However, Stratasys doesn't think it can finish the year strongly. It expects sales in the range of $750 million to $770 million just like before.
