Advent Software once tried to look for a buyer to take it off public markets, but the company's attempts stalled -- and it opted to sell a stake to TPG Capital, which bought a minority position in mid-2013. Shares have since appreciated, and after Advent Software's most recent quarterly beat in July, the provider of software for investment managers finally saw the LBO shop exit its investment, likely reeling in a double-digit percentage profit on the deal. However, Advent Software shares fell -- today's Chart of the Day is telling a different tale in '14 than it did in 2013.
