Universal Pictures, 'Lucy' stole the box office its opening weekend. Scarlett Johansson faced off with Dwayne Johnson's 'Hercules' and 'Lucy' came up on top with $44 million in ticket sales beating Box Office Guru Estimates of $33 million. The sci-fi thriller outsold Hercules which made $29 million at the box office. The Luc Besson directed film bested the Greek hero with half the budget of the action adventure movie. The sci-fi thriller outsold the combined weekend earnings of 'Dawn of The Planet of The Apes,' 'The Purge: Anarchy' and Disney's 'Planes: Fire and Rescue.' TheStreet's Kathryn Mykelseth reports from New York.
