U.S. Stocks are celebrating the fourth of July with record highs as the Dow Jones Industrial topped the 17,000 milestone. The Markets Closed early today and will remain closed tomorrow for Independence Day. The Dow hit the 17,000 mark straight out of the gate this morning after a better than expected Jobs Report showing more jobs were created than projected. The unemployment rate is now at 6.1%. Retail stocks pushed higher on this shortened trading day. Potential news of deals moved PetSmart (PETM) and Lululemon (LULU) moved higher or reports of the company going private. American Apparel (APP) shares also rose after its ousted CEO Dov Charney surrendered control of the company. TheStreet's Susannah Lee reports from Wall Street.
