The biggest untapped opportunity online: the same-day delivery of merchandise, specifically fresh food and consumables. When looking at the list of players participating in same-day delivery, investors should be able to appreciate the sales and profit potential. There are companies well-established in their own fields such as Walmart, Google, and Amazon branching out to the same-day delivery of fresh food. Then there are new companies that have carved out unique niches early on in the expanding industry, including Instacart and Blue Apron.
