Franchise employment in the U.S. is expected to increase by 2.6% in 2014. IHS Global Insight says that's faster than 2013 and will likely outpace total employment growth in the U.S. by nearly 1%. At the 2014 International Franchise Expo in New York City last week, more than 450 franchises showcased their businesses to entrepreneurs looking to get a piece of the action. Most of these are quick-service restaurants, which are the largest franchisors in the U.S. Franchises are expected to add nearly 200,000 new jobs this year, with quick-service restaurants adding more than 75,000 alone, according to the International Franchise Association.
