The hallmark of any great powerhouse food brand is this: can the company take the one thing that it’s best known for and introduce new products that consumers just die for. Starbucks, for example, began as a coffee company, but now also successfully sells packaged food, tapas, and wine. One such brand that has all the makings of a future powerhouse food brand is Greek yogurt maker Chobani. In a recent interview with Chobani’s CMO Peter McGuinness, Brian Sozzi was left with the impression the company is preparing to go on a major offensive against dip and fellow yogurt makers that have fallen asleep at the wheel.
