The New York Assembly voted yesterday to pass the Compassionate Care Act that would legalize medicinal marijuana. The Democratic led group has passed such a bill before, only to see it get voted down by the Senate. The Senate has a competing bill that is waiting review by the Finance Committee. If both bills pass, they will need to be combined and the differences between the two resolved. The legislative session ends June 19th, so time is running out for the bill to be voted on. The finance committee will not confirm if they will add it to their agenda before the session ends.
