Former SEC defensive player of the year Michael Sam, who came out in February, is projected to be selected Saturday on the third day of the NFL draft. Sam has also signed his first major endorsement deal with Visa. Robert Tuchman, president of Goviva talks about this groundbreaking moment for the NFL and acceptance of gay athletes in professional sports as a whole. Sam has received dozens of endorsement deal offers, which is unprecedented for an expected late-round pick. Tuchman notes how Visa has stepped up in offering an endorsement deal to Sam and recognizing the importance of this moment in professional sports. In his first ad, Sam is shown working out while a voice-over urges viewers to judge him for his play on the field, not off of it. TheStreet's Kori Hale has details from New York.
