With its earnings report out of the way, reports that DirecTV is working with advisors to consider a potential bid from AT&T has shares booming. It has been a good story, for a long time, with DirecTV. Consolidation across the telecom and television space is pairing mobile service providers up with broadcasters. Regardless of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on Aereo, bringing networks to handsets is driving M&A, and this could drive DirecTV shares even higher.
