The harsh winter weather slammed USG Corp.'s sales in the first quarter, nevertheless, the pent-up demand for wallboard will help boost revenue the spring and summer months, says the company's CEO Jim Metcalf. He says the company will also benefit from international growth, especially its $1.6B joint venture with Australia's Boral. Finally, Metcalf says the company is making its drywall lighter and such innovations will drive business going forward.
