Former Avon CEO Andrea Jung was a marketing genius with a strong vision for the beauty products seller, nevertheless, her lack of attention to detail eventually caused her to fail, says Deborah Himsel, author of "Beauty Queen". Himsel, who worked for Jung at Avon from 1999 to 2005, says gender was not a factor in Jung's fall from grace, nor was the internet's impact on retail. Finally, Himsel says Avon's current CEO Sherilyn S. McCoy has the depth in global markets to turn the company around.
