The majority of U.S. companies have posted better than expected first quarter earnings and this should reassure investors going into the summer, says Jose Rasco, Head of Investment Strategies for the Investment Strategies Group Americas at HSBC. In the U.S., Rasco is most bullish on the energy, utility and agriculture sectors. Overall he favors large dividend paying stocks and expects the economy to pick up in the second half. Finally, Rasco is a fan of Latin American debt, especially Mexican issues because of the country’s political reforms.
