The U.S. dollar will appreciate in 2014 as U.S. energy and manufacturing trends continue to improve, says Bob Doll, Chief Equity Strategist for Nuveen. That's one of his ten predictions for 2014. He also predicts gold will fall for the second straight year and municipal bonds will outperform taxable ones. Doll is also forecasting that active managers beat index funds and Republicans increase their lead in the House but fall short of capturing the Senate.
