employees could be notified Tuesday the Internet company is laying off 600 to 700 workers, according to reports.

The job cuts represent about 5% of Yahoo!'s work force of 14,100 employees, the

Associated Press

reports, citing a person familiar with the company's plans. It's the fourth major layoff in the past three years at the company.

The last two rounds of layoffs have come under the watch of CEO Carol Bartz, who was hired two years to turn around the struggling company.

The latest job cuts will be targeted at Yahoo!'s products group, which builds Web properties like Yahoo!'s news, sports and finance pages, and its email service, the

Wall Street Journal

reports.
