Singh earlier said that he planned to retain some role in the company.
Late Tuesday, however, Yahoo! said that he would leave altogether to spend time with his family.
The Internet media company is already seeking replacements for three top European executives and announced a search last week for a new CEO to replace Tim Koogle.
