Xilinx Edges Up as it Plans Appeal of Patent Ruling

Specialty chipmaker Xilinx (XLNX) - Get Report was up 0.2% in early afternoon after saying a judge overturned a verdict in favor of Xilinx's patent infringement claims against rival Altera (ALTR) - Get Report. Xilinx said it will appeal.

The judgment, issued Thursday, overturns a jury's decision last fall. Altera was up 0.3%.
