NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Following its $3.1 billion acquisition of Nest, Google (GOOG) - Get Report has put the Nest Learning Thermostat in the Google Play store.

Right now, Nest offers two products, the Learning Thermostat, and the Nest Product, but only the Learning Thermostat, which retails for $249.99, is available on Google Play. "The Nest Learning Thermostat programs itself and automatically helps save energy when you're away," Google says in Google Play. "And you can control it from anywhere using your smartphone."

Google announced in January that it was buying Nest for $3.2 billion in cash, as Google seeks to move into the Internet of Things (IoT), as more devices become connected to the Internet.

Being that today is Earth Day, Nest has decided to join the trend of doing something for the environment. Nest said it is planting a tree for every Nest Thermostat sold today on Google Play.

The device is in stock and is available to ship within one-to-two business days.
