WebEx (WEBX) sank 7% late Thursday after the software company warned of soft fourth-quarter revenue.
The Santa Clara, Calif., company made $12 million, or 24 cents a share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30, down from the year-ago $13 million, or 26 cents a share. Revenue rose to $96.8 million from $78.6 million a year earlier.
On an adjusted basis, excluding certain costs, earnings were 35 cents a share in the latest quarter. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial were looking for a 35-cent profit on sales of $96.8 million.
The company expects to make about 38 cents a share for the fourth quarter on sales of $99 million to $102.5 million. Analysts were looking for a 38-cent profit on sales of $102.5 million.
Shares fell $3.11 to $37.
