YouTube after a licensing dispute.

The agreement, following a dispute that lasted nine months, would allow Warner to retain the right to sell ads that run next to its videos and keep most of the revenue, the

Wall Street Journal

reports, citing people familiar with the matter.

Warner is enlisting third-party agencies to sell the ads and line up more lucrative arrangements like sponsorships for particular videos or artists, the

Journal

reports.

The agreement could address Warner's complaint against YouTube that the ads that currently run on the site don't generate sufficient revenue for the music company.

Warner pulled all its music from YouTube in December after the two companies failed to agree on licensing terms.
