Verizon May Name McAdam as President

is expected to name Lowell McAdam as its president and chief operating officer, putting him next in line to succeed CEO Ivan Seidenberg, the
Wall Street Journal
reports.
McAdam has served as CEO of Verizon Wireless since 2006.
McAdam's appointment could be announced as early as Monday, the
Journal
says, citing a person familiar with the matter.
McAdam will report directly to Seidenberg and oversee Verizon's wireless and wire-line businesses, and its services operations. He would also oversee management of the company's technology, the newspaper reports. Verizon hasn't had a president and operating chief since Dennis Strigl retired from the position in 2009, the
Journal
notes.
Daniel Mead, the current executive vice president and chief operating officer at Verizon Wireless, a unit of Verizon and
Vodafone
