was down 43.1% in late afternoon after striking a 52-week low of $17. The Linux software company

warned that its first-quarter loss would be 14 to 16 cents a share excluding items, worse than the Street's estimate of a 9 cent loss. VA Linux blamed lower revenue on slower-than-expected sales growth from dot-com customers. Other Linux companies were down as well.
