Triquint Lower on Loss Forecasts

was tumbling in the premarket session after warning of unexpected losses in the current and upcoming quarters.

The San Francisco semiconductor maker expects to lose 1 cent to 3 cents a share before a charge in the current fourth quarter, and a similar result in the first quarter of next year. Analysts had been expecting earnings of 4 cents in the fourth quarter and 3 cents in the first quarter.

The company expects revenues of $64 million to $66 million in both periods, also below analysts' expectations.

On Instinet, Triquint was losing $2.11, or 15%, to $11.99.
