was falling in the preopen after saying it expects fourth-quarter revenue at the low end of its previous $75 million to $80 million range.

The chipmaker also said it expects to earn 4 cents a share in the quarter, in line with analysts' estimates, although at the low end of its own previously issued guidance. The estimate excludes an expected $100 million charge related to excess capacity.

On Instinet, Triquint was falling $1.54, or about 8%, to $18.01.
