Finance Ministry Director General Ohad Marani today hinted that the ministry is planning to impose a tax on capital gains. "It's highly possible that the finance minister will say something about imposing tax on the capital market in the framework of the economic plan under way," Marani said on the Voice of Israel.

"One must wait, but this is very likely to happen," Marani added. First the matter must mature, meaning after the Rabinovich tax-reform committee reaches a decision on this issue, Marani added.

He noted that the heads of the ministry are open to amendments in the economic plan, granted these ensure economic stability.
