Currently, TiVo's TiVoToGo feature lets subscribers transfer television shows from their recorder to a laptop or personal computer over a home network, where they can be moved to another device with
Portable Media Center format. The plans detailed Monday will add support for the iPod and PSP.
TiVo said it will begin testing the feature in the coming weeks with a select group of TiVo Series2 subscribers who own the Apple Video iPod or PSP devices. TiVo said it plans to make the feature available to its entire standalone TiVo Series2 subscriber base as early as the first quarter of next year.
TiVo shares added 48 cents, or 9%, to $5.75 early Monday.
