
Teva, banks lead TASE northward Thursday morning
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opend up this morning, influenced by the lower-than-projected March CPI and the relative quiet on the northern border. Nasdaq¿s Tuesday gains are also contributing to a 1% rise in leading indices.
TA-25 blue chips are now up 1.1% to 393.5 points, the TA-100 is up 0.9% to 379.1 points and tech shares are gaining 0.7% to 221.3 points. Turnover is NIS 18 million.
Teva (Nasdaq: TEVA) is climbing 1.9% on the session's highest turnover of NIS 7.2 million.
Both major banks are gaining with Bank Hapoalim up 1.1% and Bank Leumi up 0.8%.
Bezeq opened up 0.7%.
Ormat is tacking on 2.8% after announcing a winning bid to build a geothermic power station in Guatemala. Ormat estimates investment in the project a $15-25 million, with projected annual income of $10 million.
IDB group shares are also moving north with IDB Holdings swelling 2.1%, IDB Development adding on 1.7% and Discount Investments seeing a 0.7% expansion. Clal Industries is trading flat.
Among dual listed shares, Magal is noteworthy, dropping 8.5% after opening with 7.8% negative arbitrage. Elbit Systems is up 1.1%.
