said CEO Ronald W. Pickett may be out for a bit recovering from prostate surgery.
The Germantown, Md., electrical-wiring broadband access outfit said Pickett told the board he was scheduled to undergo a surgical procedure that may require a period of recovery of 8 to 10 weeks. Pickett said that his condition was recently diagnosed in a routine medical examination.
"My general health is very good and I am pleased that my condition has been discovered very early," Pickett said. "According to the medical community, individuals with early diagnosis have a high probability for successful surgery and a complete and rapid recovery. I therefore anticipate a prompt recuperation and return to my full-time schedule with the company following the procedure."
Day-to-day operations will continue under the direction of Chief Operating Officer John Cramp, who was promoted from executive vice president in October.
