Tektronix to Buy Minacom

, a provider of testing and measurement products for the communications and semiconductor industries, agreed to acquire Minacom for about $27 million.

Minacom offers test systems used by telecommunications carriers, cable operators, and wireless and VoIP providers. The company is based in Montreal.

The transaction should close within 30 days. Tektronix said the deal will be immaterial to its financial results for the fiscal year.
