CommScope (CTV) - Get Report beat fourth-quarter targets and guided in line for 2007.

The Hickory, N.C., broadband cable manufacturer made $27 million, or 38 cents a share, for the quarter ended Dec. 31, up from the year-ago $17 million, or 25 cents a share. Sales rose to $394 million from $346 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial were looking for a 36-cent profit on sales of $384 million.

"Despite volatile raw material costs, we continue to believe that we can achieve reasonable sales growth while increasing operating income by more than 20%, excluding special items," the company said.

CommScope said it expects to post revenue of $390 million to $410 million for the first quarter and $1.72 billion to $1.76 billion for the year. Analysts are looking for $398 million and $1.73 billion.
