Sony (SNE) - Get Report was up 1.8% at midday after announcing that third-quarter profits dropped by 22.8%. The technology and media company said sluggish video game sales, a loss at one of its subsidiaries and other factors offset gains in its electronics business. Tokyo-based Sony halved its earnings estimate for the full fiscal year, which ends in March. Electronic Arts (ERTS) , the top independent U.S. video game developer, was down 5.5%.
