
Sharp drop in satellite TV firm YES subscriber recruitment in March
Firm anticipates April subscriber recruitment will rival October 2001 record
Satellite TV firm YES recruited just 12,000 subscribers in March, TheMarker has learned.
This comes to 33% less than the subscriber recruitment rate in each of the preceding two months, when the company recruited 18,000 subscribers net.
YES attributes the drop to the security events, which affected sales. YES claims that meanwhile it has experienced a turnaround, and expects to return to pre-March recruitment rates, possibly even exceeding them. The company estimates it will recruit 20,000 subscribers in April, which rivals October 2001, its strongest subscriber recruitment month to date.
