Internet service provider
today named Paul Roth as its president and chief executive, effective March 1.
Roth, previously a vice president at a unit of
, succeeds Charles Foster, who served as interim president and chief executive since December. Foster will remain chairman at Prodigy. Foster assumed the day-to-day duties of chairman, president and CEO after Charles Roesslein resigned Dec. 1.
Yesterday, Prodigy reported a
fourth-quarter loss that widened sharply from the year-ago figure but nevertheless came in better than two analysts had projected.
SBC, a component of the
Dow Jones Industrial Average
, owns about 43% of Prodigy.
