Preopen Trading Remains Limited
Early-bird investors are faced with a quiet preopen period, as limits on trading remain in effect.
Both the Instinet and Island ECNs have said they are ready to resume trading this morning; however trading in many securities will not resume until the full market opens.
According to Island's Web site, the National Association of Securities Dealers' halt on stocks traded on the
New York Stock Exchange
and the
American
exchange will not be lifted until 9:30 a.m. EDT.
Nasdaq
-listed and small-cap stocks, however, will be available for trade beginning at 8 a.m. EDT.
Both the Island and Instinet ECN publish trades on a 20-minute delay.
