(Nasdaq:CAMT)yesterday announced that it had received $3.4 million in orders from the Chinese company Elec & Eltek, one of Asia's leading manufacturers of printed circuit boards.

Camtek manufactures automated optical inspection systems for the PCB and advanced substrates industries.

One third of the order will appear in the company's fourth quarter results for 2000, says Camtek's Vice President of International Sales, Moshe Amit. The rest will be included in the firm's report for the first quarter of 2001.

The current order points to a strong China momentum, says Camtek CEO Rafi Amit. "This is especially significant as more PCB production shifts to China for both cost and quality reasons," he said.

In January Camtek announced $3.5 million worth of orders from Tappan Electronics and South Korea-based Petasys.

Camtek is to release its Q4 results on February 20th, 2001. Analyst Ali Irani of CIBC Oppenheimer forecasts $15.5 million in sales and earnings of 16 cents per share.
