WATERLOO, Ont. (
) -- Another month and another series of reports about a BlackBerry service outage.
Research In Motion
either has one of the most delicate networks of our time, or it has become one of the most vital communications systems to hard-chargers across the world.
The unspecified outages were reported Wednesday, and BlackBerry users commented on sites like
about disruptions in their service. A RIM rep wasn't immediately available for comment Thursday.
Gmail service suffered a domino-like shutdown that lasted about two hours before the system was restored. This is nothing particularly new. Google has had several outages in the past year.
If any readers are experiencing BlackBerry troubles, please let us know via our commenting system below. Also, are reported outages a function of weak technology? Or are they the ultimate confirmation that a network has achieved celebrity status?
