was getting crushed in the premarket session after saying its fourth-quarter loss will be about twice as wide as expected.

The company, which makes Web browsers for wireless devices, said it expects to lose 17 cents to 22 cents a share before items in its fiscal fourth quarter, which ended June 30. Analysts had been expecting a loss of 6 cents to 13 cents.

Revenue was forecast at between $64 million and $71 million, compared with earlier expectations of $85 million, plus or minus 7.5%.

Openwave shares were down $1.74, or 37%, to $2.93 in the Instinet premarket session.
