NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NXPI) - Get Report , which is seeking to complete its sale to Qualcomm (QCOM) - Get Report  in an estimated $38 billion deal, on Wednesday reported GAAP operating income of $163 million for its fiscal third quarter ended Oct. 1, a 226% increase compared with this year's second quarter, but a decline of 6% year-over-year.

The company reported total revenue of $2.39 billion, an 8% increase compared with the second quarter of 2017, but a 3% decrease compared with the same period of 2016.

The Eindhoven, Netherlands, semiconductor company said the annual decline in revenue was impacted by the divestment of its standard products business in the first quarter of 2017.

NXP's shares fell 30 cents, or 0.26%, to $116.49 during the regular session on Wednesday. Shares fell slightly after hours.

Qualcomm's shares fell 41 cents, or 0.76%, to $53.84 on Wednesday.

Qualcomm's bid for NXP, which was approved by the companies' boards of directors on Oct. 27, 2016, is based on a $110 share price. Qualcomm has extended the offer expiration to Nov. 17. It was set to expire Oct. 20.
