rose after the company announced a patent cross-licensing agreement with
Intel

The companies described the deal as "a broad, multiyear patent cross-license agreement spanning multiple product lines and product generations.
"Additionally, the companies signed a multiyear chipset agreement for Nvidia to license Intel's front-side bus technology. This will enable Nvidia to deliver its Nvidia nForce platform technology on Intel-based systems," it said.
nForce is a processor-enhancement platform that had previously integrated chips made by
Advanced Micro
(AMD) - Get Report
. Now Nvidia can attach nForce to Intel's speedy PCI Express system bus.
nVidia rose $1.23, or 6.5%, to $20.09, while rival
ATI
(ATYT)
fell 82 cents, or 4%, to $19.57.
