Businessman Nochi Dankner intends to acquire the control in IDB Holdings through Azorim Properties, which he controls, TheMarker has learned.

Less than a year ago Nochi Dankner acquired control in Azorim Properties through Ganden Real Estate from the IDB group itself.

The IDB Holdings sale is to be carried out by all the current controlling partners, including cousins Oudi Recanati, who serves as Chairman and CEO, and Leon Recanati, and members of the Recanati and Carasso families.

Unlike the failed deal where Kardan was to acquire the control in IDB Holdings, Leon Recanati is now among the sellers, and won't remain in the controlling group of IDB Holdings.

Azorim Properties specializes in real-estate investments and acquisitions, and establishes real-estate projects in Israel and overseas for leasing and business purposes. Azorim Properties also operates management and holding companies, including hotel management firms. It establishes and manages residential centers for senior citizens, and operates a sports center in Haifa, in the north of Israel.

The company ended 2001 with NIS 98.6 million revenue, and NIS 14 million net profit. Shareholders equity as of the end of the third quarter of 2001 came to NIS 345.3 million, financing 31.6% of the balance sheet, which came to NIS 1.093 billion.
