Next Level Communications (NXTV) was up 20.6% in late morning after the company late Monday announced a deal with Motorola (MOT) to deploy Next Level's broadband platform.

The companies plan to work together to offer telephone companies and ISPs high-speed capability over existing phone lines.

W.R. Hambrecht

applauded the deal, saying it will boost Next Level's customer base and access to worldwide markets. The analyst reiterated the firm's buy rating on the stock and its price target of $8.
