, a maker of low power-consumption chips, was up 24.3% in late morning after it introduced a new microprocessor.

The company said the Crusoe TM6000 takes up one-third the board space and uses less power than current versions of Crusoe. Transmeta said the chip is designed for new computing platforms.

Other semiconductor makers were lower. Sector bellwether Intel (INTC) - Get Report was down 4.3%. The company is due to post earnings after the close of trading Tuesday.
