Net2Phone in Development Pacts With Broadcom, Motorola

Broadcom

(BRCM)

signed an agreement with

Net2Phone

(NTOP)

to develop Internet protocol voice services using broadband connections.

The companies didn't disclose any financial details of the agreement in their joint release. Net2Phone's voice over IP technology will be added to Broadcom's xChange software and residential broadband gateway reference designs.

Shares of Broadcom recently surged 6.3%, or $5.38, to $90.50, while Net2Phone fell 13 cents, or 0.9%, $14.06 in

Nasdaq

trading.

Separately, Net2Phone and

Motorola's

(MOT)

broadband communications sector agreed to develop products and applications that integrate Motorola's IP telephony products, including the SURFboard SB3500 cable modem, with Net2Phone's VoIP communications network.
