Microsoft Ousts Information Chief
Stuart Scott violated corporate polices, the company says.

fired Chief Information Officer Stuart Scott for "violating company policies" following a company investigation.
The
Wall Street Journal
reported late Tuesday that a spokeswoman for the company declined further comment.
Scott's tenure ended Monday, according to information from Microsoft's Web site.
Scott had been with the company since July 2005, after 17 years at
General Electric

.
Shares of Microsoft were off 6 cents to $36.35 in recent after-hours trading.
