Microsoft Exec Off to Blackbaud

, to serve as its new president and chief executive starting later this month.

Chardon will succeed retiring President and CEO Robert J. Sywolski, effective Nov. 28.

Blackbaud said Monday that Chardon has served as financial chief of Microsoft's information worker business since 2003. He first joined Microsoft in 1998 as general manager of Microsoft France. Sywolski has been president and CEO of Blackbaud since March 2000.

Based in Charleston, S.C., Blackbaud provides software and services for nonprofit organizations. Customers include the American Red Cross, the Detroit Zoological Society and the New York Philharmonic.

Shares of Blackbaud were down 21 cents at $16.51.
